thai-protests

We would like to keep you informed and up to date with the current situation here in Bangkok.

The protesters which are organized by People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) have been occurring since Nov 3, 2013.

On Jan 13, 2014, PDRC will organize a large protest in Bangkok. They are planning to block access to all government offices, in order not to allow the officials to go to work. We are expecting there to be heavy traffic.

PDRC has stated to allow access for all the tourists’ coach / van / car including ambulance van / public bus and motorbike to drive through to any places in the city but they will not allow the government vehicles.

The protests have remained peaceful and without any violence. Life in Bangkok and all other areas of Thailand continues as normal. Business Events venues and activities and businesses within Bangkok and other provinces are not affected, and continue to operate as usual.

The protesters are welcoming to any tourists if they wish to visit them as these are very peaceful protests. Green Wood Travel follows the advise of MinBuze to keep clear from any protest site: http://goo.gl/i8BROy

The major protests on Jan 13, 2014 will be starting at 09.00 hours, in Bangkok only. Other cities in Thailand such as Pattaya / Chiang Mai / Phuket / Krabi / Koh Samui as these places and other places are not affected at all.

All airports in Thailand including BTS Skytrain, MRT Subway, Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link’s Express and City Lines and water-transport are also operating as normal and are not affected at all.

Please take good note that the situation in Bangkok is normal but there will be heavy traffic.

We are monitoring this matter closely and will update to you on regular basis.
